Company Description New Year, New Job! Have you thought about working in care?

Become a Care Professional with Home Instead Ilkley and start making a difference to people's lives. We provide person-centred care for our clients in the comfort of their own home. No previous experience is necessary as we provide full training and ongoing support to guide you in your new venture. It's essential you are a naturally caring person. You will find it easy to build a good rapport with people and have excellent communication skills. You must have a full UK driving licence, a reliable vehicle, and a smartphone to access the Home Instead App. Job Description This role involves weekend work and evening work, specifically 3 evenings and every Sunday. Training and work will commence in January 2025. Becoming a Care Professional... You must have a big smile that will make each client's face light up when they welcome you at the door. As each day is varied, you’ll need to think on your feet. It helps to be light on them too, as clients often enjoy a dance following afternoon tea. A good pair of eyes and ears are essential. Ears to listen to a lifetime of stories, and eyes to help them find their things if they have been misplaced! You don’t have to be a Michelin Star Chef, but being able to make a cuppa “just right" is essential. We don’t wear uniforms (it's friendlier that way), but you must be prepared to roll up your sleeves to cook in the kitchen or bring some flowers in from the garden. Timekeeping is crucial.

You should arrive on time, take your time to listen, understand, and care – we measure time in hours, and each one matters. A GCSE in History is not required, but helping a client relive their memories by flicking through a photo album together will surely make their day. You’ll need to bring oodles of patience and a sense of humour.

We’re a social bunch at Home Instead who love getting together for regular training, and we’ll always be here to support you, no matter what. If you tick some of these boxes, then a job at Home Instead might tick yours. Everyday tasks include: Companionship and tailored wellbeing support. Support with everyday tasks from cooking a meal to light housework. Help your client access their community by accompanying them to the shops or appointments. Support with personal care, such as washing, dressing & bathing. Why choose Home Instead: Mileage & travel time paid on top of excellent hourly rate. Enhanced weekend hourly rate. Double time paid on all bank holidays. Employee referral scheme: £200 for every Care Pro you refer. Blue Light Card. Fully funded Enhanced DBS check. Company social events. 24/7 support from the Ilkley office team. Fantastic career progression opportunities with our dedicated career pathway. Award-winning professional training & support. We provide in-house training, with opportunities for ongoing training and development. Additional Information: Employment is dependent on all onboarding checks being satisfactory. Only applications from UK residents will be accepted. We do not offer sponsorship.
