Full job description For over 100 years, we have provided care for extraordinary ex-servicemen and women of varying ages and needs, from those who served in WW2 to those who more recently served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It is important for us to remember their extraordinary stories and that after their service has finished, Broughton House is where they call home.

You will be a part of our multi-disciplinary and enthusiastic team to provide a variety of care for our veterans including holistic services, dementia care, general nursing and residential needs on one recently rebuilt state-of-the-art site in Salford, Greater Manchester.

About the role

We are seeking permanent care assistants to work on nights. FIXED SHIFT PATTERN WEEK 1 MON TUES SA SUN WEEK 2 WED THUR FRI.

WE CANNOT OFFER SPONSORSHIP AT THIS TIME AND WE CANNOT OFFER 20 HR A WEEK CONTRACTS FOR THIS POST.

· Hours 19:30 – 07:30; including 1 hour unpaid break.

· Assist residents in all aspects of their personal care and hygiene needs, providing attention when needed, whilst ensuring residents retain their dignity in comfort and with respect.

· Assisting residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals.

· To actively promote and encourage as much personal independence and choice as possible in the activities of daily living undertaken by the residents within Broughton House.

· Under the guidance of the Clinical Lead and working collaboratively with the Wellbeing team, take responsibility for the physical, emotional wellbeing and social needs of our residents in line with their care plans using a person-centred approach.

· To assist residents who have limited mobility, or physical/learning difficulties, making best use of aids provided, to ensure that they can safely achieve their personal goals.

About you

· Previous experience working in health and/or social care; working in a care home environment is advantageous.

· Competent IT skills and willing to learn new software.

· Verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to provide quality care.

· Good interpersonal and communication skills.

· Good organisational skills.

· Good team working skills.

· Ability to work independently following verbal or written instructions.

· Flexible and adaptable to change.
