Main duties of the job At the forefront of our triage service for the GP practice, you will schedule the majority of appointments for patients across our 3 Leicestershire practices. You will: Work collaboratively across a multi-disciplinary team and external healthcare professionals. Deliver patient centred support to patients to access the care they need. Ensure appointments are triaged effectively through digitised systems including EMIS. Provide administrative support to the practice and clinicians to ensure patients care is processed correctly and efficiently. Where appropriate, signpost patients to alternative care and/or provide self-management advice and support. Contribute effectively to overall KPI targets. Job responsibilities This role is key to: Drive efficiency and improve clinical safety. Control the appointment book; balancing demand against capacity. Work as part of a clinically led team. Embrace new ways of working and harness the power of digital tools for triage and communication. Ensure continuity is maintained. Address the 8am rush and ensure that all our patients can access appropriate care at the point of need. Increase digital access. Qualifications Essential GCSE Maths and English Grade A to C Specific skills and competencies Essential Computer literacy with use of Microsoft Packages and CRM systems. Competent in using System One. Compassionate, empathetic, and patient, with a passion for delivering exceptional care. Excellent communicator at all levels. Curious with the ability to explore potential risks, safeguarding and/or links in data and information to enable a more holistic approach to care. Aware of own competencies and does not function beyond these. Escalated as appropriate. Confident to raise queries and concerns as needed. Able to own up to and learn from own mistakes. Organised, with the ability to multitask and work across multiple systems accurately and effectively. Experience of working in a fast-paced environment, carrying out coordination, administration and customer service tasks.
