About the Role
This is a fixed term position (end date 01/06/2025) covering sabbatical leave.
As a Care and Support Team Leader, you will join our team, providing support to vulnerable males living with mental health and/or complex needs in our Supported Living Accommodation in Brent.
We support individuals to develop the life skills identified in their support plans, provide safe supported accommodation and high quality of support, and promote independence by working in partnership with a range of agencies. Lastly, we assist individuals in exploring appropriate housing options available to them.
You will lead your team to enable people to live as independently as possible and reach their goals while supporting them to lead an active and fulfilled life. You will also be responsible for team management, including annual leave, sickness, performance management, team building, and forward planning.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours a week. The role is based on a rota, with a mixture of early (8am – 4pm), late (1pm – 9pm), and office shifts (9am – 5pm), including working weekends and bank holidays.
You will divide your time between admin (managerial) days and support (frontline) days.
What You'll Need to Succeed
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for working closely with people with mental health and/or complex needs and want to constantly promote and support our customers’ well-being. Additionally, you will be passionate about supporting your direct reports to continuously learn and improve.
As a Team Leader and senior member of staff, you will be efficient, motivated, and organized; able to work to deadlines and meet set KPIs and objectives.
You will need the following skills and experience for the role:
Effective staff management and leadership skills.
Substantial line management experience.
Experience of delivering support to vulnerable individuals with mental health and/or complex needs.
Substantial experience in creating, reviewing, and implementing support plans and risk assessments.
Substantial experience in risk management.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong IT skills, as all our records are recorded on a central IT system.
Ability to conduct reports within a deadline.
To meet our commitment to providing safe, high-quality services to our customers, we will complete an enhanced background check with the Disclosure and Barring Service, which will include a check of the Adult Barred list, once an offer of employment is made. A new check will be completed every three years.
