We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Caretaker to join a vibrant secondary school in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming school environment. Role Overview: As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for ensuring the school's facilities are maintained to a high standard, supporting daily operations, and contributing to the smooth running of the school. This temporary role is essential in creating a safe, clean, and secure environment for staff and students. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs throughout the school. Ensure the premises are clean, tidy, and ready for use each day. Carry out regular health and safety checks, including fire alarm testing and risk assessments. Secure the building, including locking/unlocking doors and windows and setting alarms. Assist with setting up classrooms and halls for events or activities. Manage deliveries and stock, ensuring supplies are organised and stored appropriately. Respond promptly to any emergencies or urgent maintenance issues. Candidate Requirements: Experience: Previous experience as a Caretaker or in a similar facilities/maintenance role. Familiarity with basic maintenance tasks, such as plumbing, electrical, and general DIY. Skills: Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and proactively manage tasks. Good communication skills to liaise with staff, contractors, and suppliers. Training/Knowledge: Basic understanding of health and safety regulations. Knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures is desirable. Why Join Progress Teachers?
