As a Care Worker for older people, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care, acting as a key worker to help service users live their lives to the fullest. Your duties will include assisting with personal and intimate care, supporting mobility and independence through the use of aids and equipment, and liaising with health professionals to ensure the highest standard of care, particularly during times of illness or end-of-life. You will contribute to the upkeep of a safe and welcoming environment, maintaining service users’ living spaces and personal belongings to a high standard. Additionally, you will help implement care plans that encourage mental and physical activity, monitor nutritional needs, and maintain open communication with families and other stakeholders. Professionalism and respect will guide your interactions, from answering emergency bells to greeting visitors. Flexibility and teamwork are essential as you will work shifts, including weekends and evenings, and participate in meetings and training to enhance your skills. Your work will reflect CrossReach’s Christian ethos, contributing to the emotional and spiritual well-being of those you care for. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older people every day. As we do our work in Christ’s name, the job you have applied for requires you to have a Christian faith and be able to work within and uphold our Christian Ethos. This is an Occupational Requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010. This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration. We have a legal obligation to ensure that we do not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK. This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations. We are required to check the entitlement to work in the UK of all prospective employees, regardless of nationality or job category.
