My name is Simon, and I am 36 years old, living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. I'm looking for someone to join my team who is calm, caring, and engaging with me. I live at home with my family and am on 24/7 Ventilation (NIV). I spend most of my time in bed and have a wheelchair, so I sometimes need to be hoisted. I enjoy daily activities like playing games on PC and PS5, building Lego, and playing board games. I also like listening to music and watching movies, so I would prefer someone with similar interests.
Some experience will be needed, and I offer good rates of pay, holiday allowance, and sick pay. Candidates must currently live in the UK. You will need to be punctual, reliable, and flexible with your working hours. Additionally, you should be able to cover each other's shifts during annual leave and sick leave. This is not a live-in position.
Duties will include:
Peg feeding
Suction
Ventilation care
Personal care
Light cleaning
Shifts are:
09:00 – 14:00
13:00 – 22:00
21:00 – 07:00 (This Is A Waking Night)
Day shifts pay from £14.50 to £15.50 per hour, and night shifts pay from £145.00 to £155.00 per night. Pay can change depending on experience, and is provided every four weeks.
You will also need to undertake appropriate training for this role, which can be provided. This is an employed position. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and must provide proof of entitlement to work in the UK.
