Job Purpose

Join our Lancashire Catchment Team! You’ll operate, monitor, and maintain diverse catchment assets, including reservoirs, boreholes, river intakes, and aqueducts. Additionally, you will ensure safety, water quality, public access, and operational efficiency, all while preserving our natural and built heritage.

Job Accountabilities

As a key member of our team, you'll foster strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring regulatory obligations are fulfilled, and our catchments are managed sustainably. You'll monitor and maintain reservoirs, react to incidents, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role includes delivering maintenance programs, supporting team action plans, and enhancing our company's reputation through effective communication and public engagement.

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will:

Have a strong knowledge of the water industry

Have technical expertise in reservoir design and safety

Be familiar with visitor and countryside access management and related legislation

Be familiar with wildlife legislation concerning species and habitats

Have practical skills in countryside management

Have a sound knowledge of hydraulics and civil engineering

Solid grasp of health and safety legislation

Desirable experience:

City and Guilds diploma in Water Engineering or similar in countryside, environmental or water related discipline

An understanding of Drinking Water Safety Plan for water quality risk management
