As our new Category Manager for Electrical & Solar PV, you’ll develop and deliver a market leading product range for the Category proposition to enable us to compete and maximise our share of the Electrical & Solar PV market. You’ll also deliver the commercial business targets for the Category in terms of margin, revenue, terms improvements and customer acquisition, through great supplier relationships, innovative proposition development and execution through branches and sales teams. You will drive innovation within the category and ensure compliance with regulations and standards. This role requires strategic thinking and a deep understanding of energy efficiency technologies and practices. Key Responsibilities

Define and deliver a market leading category strategy for Electrical & Solar PV. Strategies will include the proposition, pricing and promotional plan along with range, pricing and its role and intent within the portfolio. Review and report weekly on the trading performance and identify areas of opportunity or concern and take appropriate and timely action to resolve issues and prevent future problems. Network and maintain healthy and regular contact with your supplier base including building an internal network with stakeholders to contribute to delivering the requirements of your category & the wider commercial team. Ensure we have the optimum route to market for each channel by supplier/category & that stock health meets the objective of the business working in conjunction with the supply chain teams. Build a market leading proposition over the counter, with different range for Implants and Non Implants working with operational teams to manage stock levels. Develop a close relationship with the Electrical and Solar Sales Team and become an extension of their team, in order to best understand opportunities and challenges and customers needs, and take action to support growth. Work with the Pricing team to proactively manage our selling price in correlation with the strategy, our competitor landscape and our business goals. Work closely with Marketing to create promotional plans within the overall Trading Plan to deliver improved sales campaign on campaign and deliver the financial support to maintain margin expectations. Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers as and when required to hit target and ensure the accurate and timely input into Dealtrack making sure that all reports are maintained, transparent and accurate at all times. Where required, project manage streams of work that require a Commercial lead for the Proposition to deliver key initiatives for the business. This is a hybrid-based opportunity with up to 3 days per week in the office. You should be based in the UK and our Head Offices are in Crick (Northampton). You:

Experience in category management involving multiple direct routes to market - Retail or branch network and digital - developing and executing a category plan. Strong supplier and stakeholder relationship management. Able to effectively lead cross functional teamwork to deliver agreed category objectives. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Experience in strategic planning, budget management, and project management. Understands customer requirements in a B2B environment. Ability to understand the business needs and propose practical solutions. Us:
