Role responsibilities: We are looking for a strategic and dynamic Category Manager

to oversee and drive the success of a key product category within this company’s portfolio, specifically focusing on treating dysphagia and swallowing difficulties. This role will involve leading the marketing efforts for a range of prescription liquid medicines in key therapy areas such as Gastrointestinal, Cardiovascular, and Central Nervous System (CNS), alongside other emerging areas. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the champion for assigned therapy areas, leading product managers and ensuring alignment with the overall category strategy across all stages of the product lifecycle— from pre-launch, launch, and post-launch activities. Oversee and drive successful product launches in the UK, as well as support international and US product launches, utilizing tools like Microsoft Project and the Commercial Launch Excellence Dashboard. Develop, implement, and monitor the category’s strategic marketing plan, setting and tracking marketing and sales KPIs to ensure targets are met. Analyze and track commercial performance through tools such as Power BI and product launch trackers, adjusting strategies as needed. Manage all elements of the marketing mix to maximize product performance, including packaging, promotion, events, digital marketing, and materials. Create compelling marketing campaigns that resonate with healthcare professionals (HCPs) and contribute to market access, formulary pull-through, and product uptake. Work closely with internal stakeholders, including the sales team, to provide marketing support materials and product training. Lead relationships with creative, media, and PR agencies to ensure timely and compliant creation of marketing materials. Engage with senior leadership and internal stakeholders to provide insights and ensure buy-in for category strategies. Contribute to the development and implementation of research strategies to tailor marketing approaches based on customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape. Ensure that all marketing activities are compliant with the Quality Management System, meeting industry regulations (e.g., ABPI, GDPR). What we are looking for: Proven track record of successful UK product launches across multiple therapy areas. Strong experience in promoting and managing product launches internally and across diverse categories. In-depth understanding of the UK NHS market; experience in global markets is a plus. Solid experience in market research with the ability to generate actionable insights. Strong digital marketing skills, including website content management. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to think strategically and analytically. Ability to influence and build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization. Proven experience in managing budgets, timelines, and external agencies. Highly motivated, with a passion for the category and products. A minimum of 4 years experience in a product/brand manager role in the pharmaceutical industry. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field. ABPI qualification preferred. What’s in it for you?
