Responsible for coordinating the procurement activities within a defined product (e.g., glueboards) or service (e.g., fleet management) across the global business. Acting independently of supervision, the principal duties will be:
Day-to-day operational management of sub-categories, related suppliers, and ERP systems
Deliver cost reduction and sustainability projects with support from the category team
Market research on product trends, innovation, sustainability, pricing, and legislative requirements
Mitigating supply risks and driving continuous improvement
Acting independently of supervision, key tasks will be:
Day-to-day issue resolution
Run small tenders or medium tenders with support from the Category team
Support sourcing of leverage and non-critical supplies
Ongoing analysis of category areas
Part and supplier creation process
Nav price list maintenance
Negotiate terms with smaller suppliers and implement contracts in line with policy and processes (typically up to £3m annual spend) with support from the line manager
Assess new suppliers in line with processes to provide guidance for supplier approval
Conduct supplier analysis to support various projects, including acquisitions
Requirements
Education / Training
Skills in the Google suite of applications and Microsoft Office packages (Essential)
CIPS or equivalent qualification or in advanced stages of studying CIPS (Preferred)
Degree-qualified (Preferred)
Skills
Experience in direct and/or indirect procurement function in a global organisation
Proven relationship building abilities
Proven track record of stakeholder management at an operational/functional management level
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills
Independent worker but is also a flexible team player
Excellent influencing and persuasion skills
