Are you passionate about hospitality and eager to make a difference in your community? The Nelson Trust is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team at The Sober Parrot in Cheltenham. As part of our catering and events staff, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service and supporting our mission to promote health, wellbeing, and recovery. The Sober Parrot is an alcohol-free, innovative community enterprise café with a strong emphasis on health and wellbeing. We pride ourselves on using fresh, local produce and providing opportunities for the recovery community to gain valuable experience in catering and hospitality. At The Nelson Trust, we are dedicated to supporting individuals to overcome multiple disadvantages, including addiction, trauma, and health issues. Our volunteer positions offer people in recovery the chance to train in a working environment, fostering skill development and community integration. We are seeking dynamic individuals who are passionate about hospitality and eager to contribute to our vibrant café and events team. While previous experience in front-of-house hospitality or as a barista is ideal, it is not required as we provide full training. Your role will involve making a variety of coffees, hot and cold drinks, and assisting with the day-to-day operations of the café. You will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Health and Safety procedures and support our volunteers in their personal development. The Nelson Trust is committed to safeguarding; the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced Children & Adults DBS check. This is an opportunity for new, challenging, and highly rewarding experiences. Our staff make a real difference to people’s lives, and in return for your commitment and enthusiasm, we offer a comprehensive training and development programme, a generous pension scheme, and a positive working environment. If this role is for you, we would love to hear from you. Please click on the links to download the full job description and to complete an application form, or ring 01453 885633. This position will close once a suitable applicant has been appointed.

Interview date: 29th January 2025 in Gloucester.

Or post to The Nelson Trust, Port Lane, Brimscombe, Stroud, GL5 2QJ.
