Job Introduction As a Catering Manager at Sodexo in Kirkham, you are a strong multitasker and quality of life improver. You will be responsible for the site’s efficient management, continuous improvement, profitability, and operational excellence. No detail escapes your attention, and your leadership style will motivate and uplift your team. We are looking for someone with proven relevant experience who has a good understanding of food safety and good commercial acumen. Excellent client communication and management skills will be key to your success as you ensure the prompt and efficient delivery of Catering and Vending services. Main Responsibilities What you’ll do: Planning, preparation and presentation of all Catering and Vending services at the required time Adhering to special dietary requirements, paying particular attention to allergens Control and monitor financial performance of the unit to pre-budgeted targets Management and training of line staff, including carrying out performance reviews and providing coaching as necessary Ensure correct compilation of payroll to the latest regulations Purchasing and inventory control in accordance with Sodexo suppliers Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the unit to required standards Ensuring completion of due diligence records in line with Food safety policies Organisation of any hospitality catering as required, some of which may occur outside of normal working hours Take all necessary steps to ensure maximum security of the kitchen, store, office, safe and monies and any other areas under Sodexo control Support and assist GSM with managing all Sodexo services on site, covering holidays and sickness For a full list of responsibilities please view the attached job description. Ideal Candidate What you bring: NVQ chef qualification or equivalent Experience of catering management Proven experience of managing a team Experience of managing budgets Experience of delivering training using company guidelines Computer literacy Good standard of financial acumen Ability to develop increasing individual effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and training Ability to work well under pressure Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staff at all levels Ability to set and achieve standards and operate to performance criteria, with particular regard to hygiene
