We are looking for an experienced Senior Principal Designer and CDM Advisor in or close to Birmingham who wants to make a meaningful impact across diverse industries. Our Client is seeking a dedicated professional to provide expert construction health and safety guidance, deliver CDM advice, and confidently take on the Principal Designer role.
You'll manage projects across commercial, education, civil, housing, leisure, and logistics sectors, working on initiatives that truly make a difference.

Key Responsibilities: Act as Principal Designer and CDM Advisor, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations. Collaborate with contractors, designers, and clients via Design Team Meetings and Risk Workshops. Plan and manage the pre-construction phase, ensuring health and safety requirements are met. Monitor and review designers' adherence to CDM 2015 obligations. Evaluate and approve contractors' Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans. Conduct interim health and safety inspections and ensure compliance on-site. Prepare, review, and deliver Health & Safety Files at project completion.
What You'll Bring: Proven experience as a Principal Designer, including delivering both Principal Designer and Client CDM Advisor roles. Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations and construction health and safety standards. NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate or Diploma and relevant professional memberships. Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for generating reports and documents. Extensive experience managing CDM projects across various sectors.
