As a

Certification Engineer , you'll be responsible for providing a technical service on behalf of SGS customers who have applied for certificates confirming compliance of equipment with various published standards. These standards relate to the testing and certification of equipment intended for use in explosive atmospheres.

Key Accountabilities:

Assess the design of and examine and test prototype equipment in accordance with requirements in published standards and relevant procedure documents. Prepare assessment, certification, examination or test reports in accordance with the relevant procedure documents. Assess any drawing, photographic and/or descriptive documentation required to completely specify the equipment for compliance with the relevant standards. Prepare Certificates to describe in sufficient detail the equipment being certified, together with any acceptable variations in the design, including reference to any assessed documentation. Certification and Testing work. To be successful in this role, you'll need recent experience specifying the sample equipment, together with any special requirements necessary to enable the complete assessment, testing and/or certification exercises to be carried out. Additionally, you will need recent experience advising and liaising with test and certification subcontractors. Qualifications

In addition to the above you'll also need to demonstrate the following:

Experience in an engineering environment of drawing office practice, factory production and quality control methods or systems. A personal record of experience and competence is maintained and updated regularly to show progression. Experience in the application of Ex standards and the relevant testing protocols, and in applying professional judgement on compliance and the significance of non-compliance. Technical qualification gained through higher education in an engineering subject. Additional Information
