Our Regulatory Services team is responsible for providing Certification Services to a number of high profile customers across Europe and North America, assisting them to resolve product acceptance issues within the wireless consumer technology product space - EMC & Radio. We're now hiring for a Certification Engineer to join the team in either the UK or Italy, and you will have a vital role in ensuring that our customers achieve their product certifications in accordance with North American and European directives/standards. Working under minimal supervision, the Certification Engineer will be expected to independently manage, in a timely manner, complete regulatory certification service projects in accordance with the requirements of the Scheme Owners. To assist the Head of Certification to implement and execute strategies to position UL Solutions as the leading research, testing and certification organization within the regulatory community. Responsibilities

Provide customers, UL Solutions staff and others with technical information on equipment applications covered by the regulatory schemes and standards for which technical expertise is required. Utilise your technical experience and work with experienced regulatory engineers to develop a detailed knowledge of regulatory services and product compliance. Assist in resolving product certification related issues. Participate in regulatory standards development activities as directed to help achieve UL Solutions business and public safety related objectives. Take part in external regulatory activities in industry groups such as RED CA, TCBC Workshops. Overseas travel may be necessary. Help identify new regulatory related business opportunities for UL Solutions and assist in providing analyses and recommendations to the Head of Certification. Conduct and manage regulatory certification related projects and provide technical advice in the assigned regulatory and certification areas. Provide technical advice in assigned regulatory certification fields and assist in the development of Regulatory Services plans and projects as directed. Represent UL Solutions at meetings of outside organizations and provide presentations on a variety of certification related technical topics to customers and colleagues. Understand and perform Radio testing. Review and confirm the accuracy of test report content. Possess an acceptable level of expertise of radio product design to enable an assessment of product compliance to specified regulatory standards/requirements (RF/ EMC/ safety). Knowledge of EN17065: Conformity Assessment – Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services would be an advantage. Qualifications

University Degree in Engineering, or Engineering Technology, from an accredited program. 3+ years' regulatory/certification experience, either from a Notified Body or industry-side within the wireless technology space. Detailed knowledge of code and regulatory standards within wireless communications products - Radio/EMC. Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline. Detailed knowledge of code enforcement activities and code authority's use of certification and standards information. Ability to assist in the execution of innovative solutions to resolve problems associated with code, standards or certification related issues. Detailed knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems. Excellent communication skills, both with internal teams and directly with customers. Able to work independently for the most part, but adept at working with a remote team. About Us
