On-site working structure (4 days a week on-site) Stanton House have been retained by a mid-market fund to source a CFO for their Technology portfolio company. The business is one year away from an exit and is in need of a commercial CFO to drive growth, market expansion, and operational excellence to ultimately achieve the best multiple. I want to network with individuals who have either led or supported (as number 2 to CFO) on an exit end-to-end. Our client is focused on finding the right culture fit, so this person will be ambitious, strategic, and motivated to get the business through to exit in 2026. The Role: Collaborate with the CEO and Board to develop and execute strategies aimed at market expansion, revenue growth, and increased profitability. Plan and implement initiatives for organic growth and acquisitions, including due diligence, financial modelling, and integration efforts. Establish and monitor a robust KPI framework to track progress toward EBITDA and cash flow targets. Lead initiatives to enhance enterprise value and position the company for a strategic exit. Assess market opportunities and risks, offering actionable insights to support Board decisions. Oversee annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial planning to align with business goals. Deliver accurate, real-time financial reporting (P&L, cash flow, balance sheet) to inform decision-making. Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure financial flexibility and support growth. Implement strong financial systems, controls, and risk management processes, including tax planning and compliance. Lead financing negotiations with lenders and investors to secure resources for growth. Work with investors and the Board to create a roadmap for a high-value exit. Prepare the organisation for due diligence, ensuring financial readiness, governance compliance, and operational efficiency. Oversee financial elements of potential transactions, including equity valuations and investor presentations. Identify and implement operational improvements to maximise value during the exit process. Build and mentor a high-performing finance team, ensuring delivery of both strategic and operational goals. Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, offering financial insight and constructive challenge. Maintain clear communication with investors, advisors, and banking partners to align on strategic priorities. Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and results throughout the organisation. About you: Proven ability to scale businesses, drive growth, and execute successful exits, ideally in subscription-based, technology, or telecoms sector. Significant experience as a CFO or senior financial leader in investor-backed, high-growth environments. Demonstrated success in acquisitions, integrations, and private equity transactions. Strong skills in financial analysis, KPI tracking, and driving operational improvements. Background in telecoms, managed services, or ISPs is highly desirable, particularly with subscription models. Expertise in corporate finance, working capital management, tax compliance, and refinancing. Exceptional interpersonal skills to inspire teams and influence stakeholders. Chartered Accountant or equivalent (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA).
