Rollesby Ward is a 10-bedded female PICU (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) in Norwich, covering both the Norfolk and Suffolk area.
In this role, it is important to demonstrate skills in leadership, communication, risk assessment, and knowledge of the Mental Health Act. It is also essential that the individual works in a caring and empathic way towards others and is approachable to both patients and staff.
Rollesby Ward often participates in Quality Improvement projects and is continually looking to enhance its work. As a Charge Nurse, we would seek your assistance and input in making this happen.

Role
Rollesby Ward is looking for an enthusiastic and caring new staff member. As a Charge Nurse, you will have an active role in leadership and role modeling excellent care to others, which includes:
Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act. Excellent record-keeping skills, including care documentation and audits. Good communication skills both within the multi-disciplinary team and with other professionals such as social care. Leading a care team, ensuring patient needs are advocated for and that staff feel supported in their roles. Keeping up to date with the most recent NICE guidelines and local procedures and sharing any changes with the team. Being a lead in a specific area for the ward (e.g., Infection Control, Safeguarding). Contributing towards and understanding the gatekeeping of patients, facilitating safe, timely, and effective transfer in and out of a PICU ward. Ensuring that adequate supervision is provided to those you have been allocated. Participating in Quality Improvement projects where relevant. Being trained in, or able to be trained in, Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression.
