Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management:

Take charge of the day-to-day operations of the ward or department, ensuring that clinical care is delivered to the highest standards. Lead, motivate, and supervise nursing staff, ensuring effective teamwork and high morale. Patient Care:

Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Ensure that care is patient-centered, timely, and of the highest quality. Support patients through complex and challenging care needs. Clinical Supervision:

Provide clinical supervision to nursing staff, ensuring that care standards are met and that clinical procedures are carried out correctly and safely. Offer guidance and support for clinical decision-making. Staff Training & Development:

Manage staff rotas, ensure adequate staffing levels, and provide mentorship, training, and development opportunities for junior nursing staff. Promote a culture of continuous professional development and learning. Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

Collaborate with medical, allied health, and other support teams to ensure integrated care delivery. Take part in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans. Quality & Safety:

Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical policies, regulations, and standards of practice. Take responsibility for patient safety, risk management, and clinical audits. Lead initiatives to improve care quality and patient outcomes. Resource Management:

Manage ward or department resources, ensuring that equipment, medication, and supplies are appropriately stocked and used efficiently. Ensure budgetary constraints are adhered to. Patient Advocacy & Communication:

Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring they are involved in decisions about their care. Provide clear, compassionate communication with patients and families, explaining care plans and addressing concerns. Clinical Governance:

Ensure that clinical governance, infection control, and health & safety standards are adhered to at all times. Participate in audits, incident reporting, and investigations as necessary. Policy Implementation:

Support the implementation of new policies and procedures, ensuring that all staff are informed and trained on updates to best practices and regulatory requirements.
