The Sylvia Short Educational Charity is looking for someone to work with the board in taking the charity forward in terms of its organisation and outcomes. The principal responsibilities of this new post are: To manage and develop the allocation of grants; To improve communication with Herefordshire schools, colleges, and partner institutions; To raise the profile and presence of the charity in the county; To discharge duties as secretary to the board.

The successful candidate will have: Proven administrative expertise and preferably experience of working with a board; Very good verbal and written communication skills; A high level of IT skills and the ability to represent the charity effectively as required; Good administrative and organisational skills; Good IT literacy in Microsoft Word/Excel; Good financial auditing skills; Good numeracy skills; Good presentation skills; Self-motivated homeworker; Discreet, reliable, and trustworthy.

Desirable: Driver/Car owner; Experience of funding applications and processes; Local knowledge of schools, colleges, and communities; Flexible worker.
