Their goal is to be a £2 billion FUM company by 2034, from their current platform of £650m. To achieve this, they will continue to grow the advice team and innovate the way they work. They have recently grown the adviser team through internal promotion, so are now looking to welcome a more experienced Chartered Financial Planner to the team.
The Role
The Financial Planner is responsible for giving financial planning advice to clients. They are the primary relationship manager for all company interactions with their clients, and they are responsible for the quality and accuracy of all client advice. The role also entails developing new client relationships.
Responsibilities
Business development
Identify new potential clients Ensure a positive first engagement Lead the discovery process with new clients
Initial advice Conduct in-depth reviews of clients’ financial circumstances, risk outlook, current provision and future aims and objectives Analyse information and prepare plans best suited to individual clients’ requirements Agree client strategy in conjunction with the Paraplanner team
Ongoing advice Provide ongoing financial planning services in accordance with the business' standards, ensuring high levels of benefit to both prospective and existing clients. Provide advice, support and guidance to clients, assisting them to make informed decisions Design financial strategies that support clients’ needs Review and respond to clients’ changing needs Produce financial reports on performance of client portfolios Contact clients with information about new financial products or changes to legislation that may affect their pensions, savings and investments.
Regulatory Target and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as laid down by the firm Keep up to date with financial products and legislation through continuous professional development Understand the regulatory requirements of the Company; report any failings of procedures and processes to the relevant stakeholders at Board level. Meet the regulatory aspects of the role, e.g. requirements for disclosure, costs of the services provided and also the advised products as required by regulators.
Governance Ensure files and reports are presented for checking by the Head of Compliance as required Attend regular meetings with the Paraplanners and Head of Financial Planning to discuss processes, workflow and KPIs. Provide a monthly update of CPD Renew SPS annually
Experience
Essential (technical) FCA Certified Registered Statement of Professional Standing (SPS) QCF level 6 minimum Extensive technical knowledge of financial planning products and services Essential (non-technical) Exceptional report writing and presentation skills Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills Strong commercial outlook Excellent influencing and relationship management skills An ability to work under pressure and prioritise Demonstrate integrity, openly challenging decisions that are not in the best interest of the Company or its clients.
