We discover the tools which plants have evolved to synthesise bioactive small molecules and then redeploy them to synthesise new-to-nature small molecule drugs. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing and ambitious team as a natural product chemist.
The candidate
will lead the purification and structural characterisation of promising small molecules from plant extracts. They will collaborate with others as part of the biosynthetic-production pipeline. This will involve the use of techniques on a range of scales, from preparative to analytical. The candidate will be required to develop and optimize the purification process to purify mg-scale quantities of compounds for further testing, working with other laboratory-based scientists along with informaticians.
