opportunity for a rapidly growing fine chemicals manufacturer based in North East England.

International fine chemicals manufacturer based in North East England, which supplies some of the world's largest consumer manufacturers, and is now going through a period of extensive growth.

Hours of work:

Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Location:

Salary:

Up to £45k, depending on skills and experience.

You will be involved in: Developing new and existing synthetic processes (organic compounds) through literature and laboratory work. Scaling up processes up to multi-kilo scale and providing associated tech transfer information and purification by distillation. Working with QC department to develop analytical methods for in-process QC and final product assays. Carrying out projects and overseeing project teams. Ensuring H&S and environmental compliance within the laboratory.

What do you need to be considered? Qualification in Chemistry at degree level or above. Ideally 5 years industrial experience carrying out synthetic organic chemistry in the development of fine chemicals (APIs, additives, aroma chemicals etc). Experience of scale-up/tech transfer (multi-kilo). Knowledge of analytical techniques such as GC and wet chemistry. Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Previous experience in project and team management.
