We are working alongside a high-achieving, mixed secondary school located in the heart of Berkshire, known for its strong community ethos and academic excellence. Rated "Good" overall by Ofsted, with an "Outstanding" sixth form, the school takes pride in offering a well-rounded education that enables every student to achieve their full potential. They're looking to hire a Science Teacher with a specialism in Physics and Chemistry to start permanently in September 2025! Key Responsibilities: Teaching and Learning Deliver inspiring and interactive Physics lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility. Use innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance student engagement and understanding. Assessment and Progress Monitoring Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress and achievement. Provide detailed, constructive feedback to students to support their academic development. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior. Collaborate with the Science Department to create and refine the Physics curriculum. Ensure all teaching aligns with national curriculum standards and school policies. Contribute to departmental meetings and share best practices. Pastoral Care and Safeguarding Act as a form tutor, supporting students' personal development and well-being. Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all students. Adhere to the school's safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining a commitment to student welfare. Extra-Curricular Contributions Participate in and potentially lead science-related clubs, trips, or enrichment activities. Support school events and initiatives, promoting a culture of engagement and community. Candidate Requirements: Essential Qualifications and Experience Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification. A strong academic background with a degree in Physics/Chemistry or a closely related field. Demonstrable experience teaching Physics in a secondary school setting, including A-Level. Skills and Attributes A passion for Physics and a commitment to inspiring young minds. Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to convey complex concepts clearly. Strong classroom management skills, fostering a positive learning environment. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively. Proficiency in using ICT to support teaching and learning. Commitment A proactive approach to continuous professional development. Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and events.
