South West
who are looking to recruit a Chief Accountant with strong technical skills and experience of Local Government statutory financial statements. Job:
Chief Accountant Duration:
3 – 4 months whilst recruiting permanently Days:
3 days per week Rate:
£650-£700 via Umbrella Company, Inside IR35 Site presence:
Can be fully remote working Responsibilities
Have the technical knowledge to lead the annual closedown process and the production of accounting statements Responsibility for maintenance and closure of accounts, and advising senior managers on complex financial issues Liaise with external auditors and maintain strong track record for delivering statements within deadlines and positive audit reports Lead professional development sessions with the Financial Management service Communicate complex financial matters to non-financial stakeholders, most notably elected members of Audit and Governance Committees Requirements
Must have experience working within a Local Authority, preferably a County Council A qualified accountant (e.g. CIPFA, ACCA etc), with significant knowledge, skills and experience of working at a senior level in a finance team If you’re interested, please apply or send through an up-to-date CV to
