Chief Accountant / Technical Accountant
with a strong background in
leading accounts close-down within local government . Key Responsibilities: Line Management:
Supervise and support the Technical Accountant, including performance appraisals, work allocation, and leave management. Financial Strategy & Compliance:
Support the implementation of financial policies to ensure service efficiency, value for money, and alignment with Council priorities. Stakeholder Engagement:
Attend and advise in meetings with members, Directors, management teams, and working groups. Statement of Accounts:
Lead the preparation and publication of the
Statement of Accounts , including producing notes and professional working papers. Treasury Management:
Prepare treasury-related elements of the accounts in accordance with statutory requirements. Requirements: Proven experience in
local government accounting
and
year-end close-down . Strong technical expertise in
financial reporting, treasury, and statutory accounts preparation . Experience in leading teams and managing finance professionals.
