We are looking for an ambitious Cardiac Physiologist with a speciality in Echocardiography to join the team at the Newmarket Community Diagnostic Centre. Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) are being established across the country under a government programme to improve local access to diagnostic testing. Newmarket's CDC will open November 2024 and, once open, will deliver approximately 100,000 outpatient tests a year, which alongside Cardiology, will include CT, MRI, X-ray, Ultrasound, blood tests and Respiratory. This will mean the communities in and around Newmarket will have quicker and easier access to the tests they need in a modern facility located on their doorstep. The centre, offering a 7 day a week service, will reduce waiting times and tackle health inequalities by ensuring our patients get their tests arranged, their results back, and any necessary treatment scheduled more quickly. It is essential that the applicant holds BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent, and in addition holds BSE Accreditation or equivalent. This post will involve a degree of managerial responsibilities; therefore, experience in leadership or management roles would be desirable. Job responsibilities

Please see full job description for further details . Provide high quality cardiac diagnostic testing and reporting independently. Demonstrate expert knowledge of cardiac diagnostics. Provide rapid and accurate interpretation and reporting on patient conditions using complex clinical data from diagnostic cardiac testing, in urgent and emergency situations. Remain accountable for own professional actions. Demonstrate expert knowledge and care of diagnostic equipment. Responsible for patient wellbeing whilst under your care, maintaining their dignity, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs. Adhere to relevant departmental, trust wide and national policies and protocols. Person Specification

Education & Qualification

ASCST diploma or equivalent Degree in Clinical Physiology, or equivalent RCCP or HCPC registration Possession of BSE Accreditation Intermediate Life Support Certification Experience & Knowledge

Advanced knowledge / experience in cardiac diagnostics. Proficient in performing and independently reporting: Provocative ECG, Ambulatory monitor recordings, Internal Loop recorder downloads, Urgent and planned complex device implant and follow up or adult echocardiography, Carry out diagnostic angiography. Experience of project management. Current experience in advanced practice. Skills & Abilities

Skills in teaching/training. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team. Ability to develop empathy and compassion for patients and relatives. Quick to grasp new concepts. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Engagement in national or regional educational programmes. Initiative and motivation. Evidence of good attendance and timekeeping. Able to work well under pressure. Assertive yet approachable. Patient, conscientious and caring. Flexible approach to working duties/hours and participate in out of hours rota work as required in future.
