Chief Executive

will provide visible and inspirational leadership to the Council's work - drawing the best from colleagues and working in partnership with community stakeholders to deliver the very best outcomes for East Lothian. You'll work closely with elected councillors to define organisational priorities and ensure that there is clarity of direction and purpose in the organisation and that all staff understand how their contribution connects to our overarching strategic objectives for East Lothian. You will build on the excellent partnerships that are supporting the ongoing growth, prosperity, and wellbeing of East Lothian to ensure a collaborative approach that fully utilises the expertise and capacity within different organisations. Doing so requires exceptional and inspirational leadership. First-class communication and relationship-building skills will enable you to engage, to listen, and to be an effective advocate for the work of the Council. We expect that you will already have senior leadership experience in a comparable setting and the breadth of strategic awareness that will enable you to provide direction across the full spectrum of services. Delivering the more prosperous, safe, and sustainable East Lothian we all want to see includes helping our children achieve their potential, supporting older and vulnerable people, enhancing the local environment, addressing challenges associated with climate change, and building an increasingly sustainable economy.
