Morgan McKinley is partnering exclusively with Norland College to recruit their next Chief Financial Officer.

Based in Bath, Norland College is a world-renowned organisation with an outstanding reputation for providing the very best in early years training and education. Norland has a turnover of c£6mln and around 80 employees and are on a trajectory to become a University. The culture is inclusive and collaborative, and the role is based predominantly on site, although there is flexibility to work 1 day from home a week, and more outside of usual term time.

The Role

Working as part of the Senior Leadership Team, the CFO role will have a broad remit and will be involved in strategic decision making and various commercial activities.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Leadership and development of finance team Prepare the year-end financial statements and present for annual audit Plan, coordinate and execute the annual budget process Advise senior management on financial planning, budgeting and investment priorities Responsibility for statutory and financial matters relating to Norland Benevolent Fund and The Norland Foundation (registered charities) Prepare and present management reports to the Board of Directors Deliver on capital planning and projects, and responsibility for cash flow Lead for the Sustainability Team

The Person

You will be a graduate Qualified Accountant with strong technical accounting skills and experience of strategic planning and evaluation. Previous experience of statutory external audit, developing risk management strategies, and leading management accounting, budgeting and forecasting functions are all essential.

You will also have a track record of demonstrating professionalism, passion, and energy in previous roles, and will be an excellent leader and communicator.

Flexibility and proactivity will be key to your success in the role, and you will need to manage change positively and be comfortable collaborating with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
