As Chief Financial Officer, you will serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Operations Officer, Senior Leadership Team, and Designated Members, driving the financial performance and long-term sustainability of Elliot Mather LLP. This role demands a forward-thinking individual with the ability to balance high-level strategy with operational excellence. You will play a leading role in the development of Elliot Mather’s strategy by providing in-depth and insightful analysis ensuring evidence-based decision making. What the role involves: Overseeing all financial operations and financial planning. Coordinate, analyse, and report the financial performance to Senior Leadership Team and Designated Members (financial performance, projections, and other special projects as required). Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties. Oversight of the audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms, and review firms' performance. Manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting. Oversee and own the budget process and guide cross-functional teams in creating, maintaining, and reporting against financial goals. The ideal candidate will have: A strong background in finance and accounting, proven leadership abilities, and the ability to thrive in a challenging environment. Experience working in a legal practice. Qualified accountant with proven experience in changing environments. Experience in a previous Financial Director or CFO role. Strong understanding of finance and performance management principles. Excellent knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting. Experience in implementing accounting and financial software. Strong analytical, presentation and influencing skills at a senior/board level.
