FIN-0004-25 Position Overview

This is an exciting time to join the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The RVC is consistently rated as the leading independent veterinary school globally and, with recent acquisition of full University status, is uniquely positioned to continue to lead the field in innovative veterinary education, research and clinical services. Located across two dynamic campuses in central London and Hertfordshire, the RVC has a turnover of approximately £130 million, engaging in a diverse range of educational, research, and clinical activities. Our international reach continues to expand, and we have ambitious plans for future development, including a new small animal hospital and enhanced commercial operations through our wholly-owned subsidiary, the London Biosciences Innovation Centre Ltd. Role Responsibilities

The RVC has generated a consistently positive financial return over the past decade despite the challenges which have faced the Higher Education sector. As we continue to navigate these challenges, we seek a visionary CFO to join our senior team in mid-2025. As CFO, you will report directly to the President & Principal, providing strategic leadership and oversight of all financial matters. Your expertise will shape the RVC’s Finance Strategy, ensuring alignment of financial resources with our ambitious Strategic Plan. Candidate Requirements

Strong candidates will have a professional accounting qualification and membership of a recognised professional accountancy body, and a proven track record as a senior finance professional within a large complex organisation. Previous Higher Education experience is desirable but not essential. Highly developed skills in strategic, financial and resource planning at an organisational level, including major capital projects and external financing, are essential, as is experience of operating at Board level. Application Process

To apply, please send a CV and a covering letter outlining how you meet the job description and person specification to rvc@minervasearch.com on 14 February 2025. The interview dates will be confirmed. The RVC values diversity and inclusion – promotes equality of opportunity by working towards ensuring our workforce is reflective of our diverse community. We encourage applications from Women and people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds across all roles which are under-represented at senior levels across the College.
