Location: United Kingdom, Remote

Type: Full-time, contract (12 months that will later lead to a full-time PAYE scheme offer with benefits)

About Us: We are a deep-tech startup developing electric autonomous construction equipment designed to transform the industry. Our team is growing, our technology is advancing, and we're looking for a dynamic Chief Financial & Operations Officer (CFOO) to help steer the ship. This role is as much about rolling up your sleeves and putting out fires as it is about setting the strategic course for our finances and operations.

The Role: As our CFOO, you will act as the financial architect of the UK subsidiary and work with the head of operations of our company. You'll ensure we stay financially sound while also creating and managing scalable operational systems to drive efficiency and solve day-to-day challenges. We're looking for a leader who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and can seamlessly shift between big-picture strategy and on-the-ground execution.

Key Responsibilities: Financial Leadership: • Own all aspects of financial planning, including budgeting, runway forecasting, and cash flow management. • Manage finances on various programs to ensure forecasts are aligned with actual spend. • Issue wires and work with our accounting firm to ensure seamless payroll. • Build and refine financial models to align with our growth trajectory and strategic objectives. • Deliver actionable insights to the leadership team to drive informed decision-making. • Establish processes to monitor and control expenses, ensuring financial discipline across the organization. • Partner with the CEO on fundraising efforts, including financial reporting, pitch preparation, and investor relations.

Operational Leadership: • Oversee day-to-day operations with other operational leaders at the company, ensuring alignment with company goals and rapid resolution of issues. • Design and implement scalable processes to optimize productivity and efficiency across teams. • Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts, taking ownership of critical initiatives that impact multiple departments. • Drive operational readiness for product launches, manufacturing, supply chain, and scaling efforts. • Act as a steadying force in high-pressure situations, resolving bottlenecks and fostering a culture of solutions-oriented teamwork.

Strategic Growth & Team Building: • Collaborate with team leads to set realistic budgets and operational goals while holding them accountable for execution. • Contribute to long-term strategy by aligning financial and operational plans with business objectives.

What We're Looking For: Experience: • Experience in finance & operations ideally in high-growth startups or deep tech/hardware companies. • Proven success in scaling operational systems and building processes from the ground up.

Skills & Mindset: • Strong financial acumen paired with a deep understanding of operational challenges. • Strong background in financial planning. • Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to stay calm and decisive under pressure. • Hands-on, adaptable, and capable of seamlessly wearing multiple hats. • A natural leader and communicator who can rally teams around common goals. • Strategic thinker with a bias for action and a knack for turning strategy into execution.
