Chief Mechanical Engineer
will be reporting to the Operations Director. The
Chief Mechanical Engineer
will be part of a small but growing team, working on designs for Industrial Systems and related off-road products and the heavy platforms sector. The products and size of platforms vary depending on the project and end client and are powered by Diesel, electric, battery, or hybrid technologies. This

opportunity allows for close collaboration with all employees, including the Directors, Engineers, and support personnel. Chief Mechanical Engineer - Essential Criteria Degree in a related subject (BEng, BSc) - Mechanical or Product Design Engineering Ideally a Chartered Engineer Experience within an engineering and product design environment Ability to lead a small team of engineers Ability to liaise with electrical engineers and other departments Commutable to the South Derby area Chief Mechanical Engineer - Key Responsibilities and Experience Required Mechanically design products in 3D, including 2D detail production drawings Update existing designs in conjunction with the electrical design engineers Support the technical author as required Work with an ERP system (Microsoft NAV or similar) Work with associated Bills of Materials Skilled with 3D CAD (ideally Autodesk Inventor or similar) Skilled with hand calculations and FEA Design experience Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and large fabrications Experience with low volume product design Support production with technical enquiries Preferred experience in Industrial, Rail, Off-Road, or Heavy Platform product design Hours and Holidays 37 hours/week Flexitime/Hybrid working available if needed 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Mon to Thurs 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM Fri 25 days + 8 statutory holidays Other Benefits - After successful 3-month probationary period Pension 4% employer contribution (+ 4% employee contribution) Death in Service equal to 4 x salary Bonus scheme dependent on company performance (Non-Contractual) Flexible working scheme Healthcare Group Scheme membership If you feel you meet the requirements for the role of
