Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Support to the CEO:
  • Provides effective support to the Group CEO in managing and organizing the critical strategic projects for Quilter.
  • Preparing papers, presentations and research to critically assess projects or propositions as directed by the CEO.
  • On behalf of CEO review and assess business issues or challenges to create options and solutions for consideration.
  • Manage and monitor key activity and projects on behalf of the CEO, supporting the progression of activities and or escalating matters for attention to the CEO as appropriate.
  • Deputizing for the CEO when appropriate, attending forums, committees and meetings to represent the CEO and provide assurance and insight to the CEO on progress of key strategic activity.
Strategic & Commercial Acumen:
  • Contributes to the development and ongoing evolution of Quilter's business strategy, ensuring functional business plans align and complement Quilter's strategy.
  • Proposes and manages budgets for areas of responsibility through careful control of costs, monitoring and reporting on variances.
Leadership & Influence
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders, including the Board, ExCo, all relevant Board and Management Committees through appropriate engagement and the timely flow of information, thus helping to manage the reputation of the Company.
About You

The Chief of Staff is a core member of the Chief Executive's office, reporting to the Group Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Quilter Executive Management Team (ExCo) on key strategic deliverables.

The primary purpose of the role is to support the CEO in managing the key strategic priorities for Quilter plc. Working closely with the CEO to critically analyse Quilter's strategic priorities, bring together external and internal insight to support the ongoing delivery of Quilter's strategy and business plan.

The role holder will be an established leader with strong interpersonal skills, able to build relations and confidence at Executive level and lead with gravitas. The role requires strong commercial and business acumen, proven and credible commercial business expertise. They will have extensive experience of programme delivery and execution with a track record of assessing, analysing and resolving complex business challenges. They will have in-depth experience and understanding of the regulatory landscape in which Quilter operates.

The ability to fully contribute to the work of the Quilter ExCo and support the business leadership team are key components to this role. The role holder will support the delivery of the Group's strategic objectives within risk appetite whilst challenging and working with management to ensure good customer outcomes at all times.

The Chief of Staff will deputise for the CEO when appropriate, attending forums, committees and meetings to represent the CEO and provide assurance and insight to the CEO on the progress of key strategic activity.

Financial and/or actuarial qualification (ACA, CAA, FIA, CERA, CFA or similar).
