Job scope includes clinical work within a patient and family/carer centred philosophy, QA and clinical governance, operations (e.g. budgets , KPIs etc.); Education, training, research and professional development.
They are seeking an experienced and dedicated psychiatrist to join them. You will provide specialist clinical psychiatric support, contributing to the development of a culture of medical education, and ensuring safe, patient-centered care.
As a leader in the department, you will also be responsible for supervising junior staff, participating in quality assurance initiatives, and contributing to research activities. This role includes involvement in providing multidisciplinary care and supporting innovative treatment models for complex cases.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
- Deliver high-quality patient care through evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical governance, and departmental meetings.
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and training to junior medical staff.
- Engage in research, continuous professional development, and education.
Selection criteria includes but is not limited to
- Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP), or equivalent gained in NZ, UK, Ireland, USA or Canada.
- Deep experience in child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Strong clinical and teaching experience.
- A collaborative approach to your work.
- Willingness to participate in the on-call and after-hours roster.
