Glasgow City Council is currently recruiting a full-time Child Development Officer who will be based in Hazelwood School. Hazelwood School is a school for pupils with complex learning needs. The Child Development Officer will support the delivery of high quality early learning and childcare. Child Development Officers have responsibility for the learning and development of our youngest learners through the planning, preparation and delivery of stimulating learning experiences in line with Curriculum for Excellence and national practice guidance. You will provide support and care whilst promoting the development of independence, competence and confidence in our youngest learners. In addition, you will be required to effectively engage with families and education, health and social care professionals, as and when required. Applicants must possess a relevant qualification such as the HNC Childhood Practice at SCQF Level 7 (formerly HNC Early Education and Childcare), SVQ Social Services Children and Young People at SCQF Level 7, National Nursery Examination Board certificate (NNEB), or equivalent, as required by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration as a practitioner in the day care of children's services. This position is subject to membership of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. Application Packs
