About the role

Our Quality Assurance Practice & Improvement Service are looking to recruit a part time (18.5 hours) Child Protection Chair on a 12 month fixed term contract or secondment. 

This engaging opportunity places you at the heart of our dedicated team of Child Protection Chairs, where mutual support and collaboration are key. You'll receive invaluable guidance and assistance from your line manager, the Service Manager for Independent Chairs. Our monthly team meetings are a vibrant, safe space for reflection and sharing insights, ensuring we grow and learn together.  This is a county wide post and as such you will be asked to Chair statutory Child Protection Conferences across Cambridgeshire however the main office base is Scott House in Huntingdon.

Closing date 11 December 2024.  Interviews will be held in person at Scott House in Huntingdon on 19 December and will consist of a panel interview followed by a written exercise.

Appointment to this post will be subject to the outcome of an Enhanced Disclosure obtained through the Disclosure and Barring Service. The Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

About you

The role requires a Social Work qualification where you can evidence you have experience in working in safeguarding children and are able to recognise, analyse and manage risk. The role also requires the ability to work with children, families and colleagues from across a range of partner agencies developing positive working relationships.

This is a great opportunity to use your skills and expertise to manage a busy and varied caseload ensuring safeguarding of children is paramount and central to all decision making.
