Role Responsibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Safeguarding, Quality Assurance & Professional Standards Service for a QA Manager in the Child Protection Chairs Service. We are seeking to recruit a full-time QA CPC Manager. This post provides an exciting opportunity to lead and influence the delivery of the Child Protection Chairs Service across the East & South Area. The successful applicant will be part of a supportive Safeguarding, Quality Assurance and Professional Standards management group, and will lead and line manage a cohort of Child Protection Chairs. You will work alongside the CPC QA Manager for the North & West Area to deliver a consistent and quality service. You will work within the wider QA service as you support the implementation of Kent’s quality assurance framework. You will be able to evidence extensive knowledge of statutory duties including child protection, legal processes, including Public Law Outline and court proceedings. You will have a strategic mind, excellent written and verbal communication, IT skills and the ability to prioritise your own work and work with your teams to respond to tight deadlines essential for this post. You will be required to provide excellent supervision, evidencing management support and oversight for the Child Protection Chairs in the service and lead and develop the quality assurance strategy within the service, and be committed to leading and implementing the Kent Practice Framework and child protection transformation as part of the Reform Agenda, following the publications of vision set out in “Stable Homes, Built on Love”, Working Together to Safeguard Children, 2023, Children’s Social Care National Framework, Data Strategy and Championing Kinship Care. You will create and maintain a good team atmosphere and morale and be able to evidence good leadership skills and a proven track record for delivering good outcomes for children and young people. In addition to your practice, you will need to lead, manage, and motivate a team to embed a positive performance culture. Above all, you’ll be focused on helping children and families to change their lives for the better. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure application to the Disclosure and Barring service and registration as a qualified Social Worker with Social Work England. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification. As part of the interview process for this role you may be required to complete additional testing. Interviews will take place the week beginning January 27th 2025 in a face to face panel. About the Company
