Qualified Social Worker - Child Protection Team up to £38.43 per hour dependent upon experience A Qualified Social Worker is required to join one of Newport Social Services Children and Families team; ideally the successful candidate will be able to offer a 9 day fortnight. Contract will run for an initial 6 months.

This team case hold from long term CASP decision, ICPC, Initial court hearing up until a care plan decision/adoption.

Pay rate for this role is up to £38.43 per hour via umbrella company in line with the All Wales Pledge. Duties and Responsibilities:

Holding a caseload of children subject to Child Protection Plans and Children in Need Undertaking Wellbeing Assessments Undertaking Child Protection Enquiries under Section 47 of the Children's Act of 1989 Providing support and intervention to families and children in need Liaising/Working closely with partnership agencies to safeguard and support the families and meet the children/young people's needs Compiling Initial Child Protection Conference reports Convening and chairing Core Group Meetings Initiating and implementing Child Protection Plans Working within pre-proceedings and Public Law Outline Initiating Care Proceedings Reviewing and implementing children's individual care plans Completing/reviewing/implementing Care and Support plans Chairing Care and Support meetings Attending court, preparing statements and care plans, and giving verbal evidence when required Attending CSE/CE/HSB Multi-agency meetings Completing SERAF risk assessments Undertaking joint visits with Police to safeguard young people. Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker A relevant Social Work Qualification Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or be happy to apply for a DBS 3 Years of referencing Driving license with access to a car Benefits of Working for Hoop:
