We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Psychotherapist to join our team and contribute to the well-being of our students. The Role: As a Child Psychotherapist in our SEMH school, you will be responsible for providing therapeutic support to students facing emotional and mental health challenges. You will work closely with individuals and small groups to offer psychotherapeutic interventions aimed at improving emotional regulation, self-esteem, and coping strategies. You will also collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to student care. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and group therapy to students, using a range of therapeutic approaches (e.g., psychodynamic, CBT, play therapy). Conduct thorough assessments to understand the emotional and psychological needs of students. Develop personalized treatment plans and interventions for students, regularly reviewing progress and adapting strategies as needed. Support students in managing stress, trauma, and emotional dysregulation. Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure an integrated approach to care and education. Deliver psychoeducation and training to staff and parents, fostering a better understanding of mental health and therapeutic techniques. Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions and interventions. Participate in case reviews and contribute to the overall development of each student's care plan. About You: A qualification in Child Psychotherapy (e.g., Masters in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy or equivalent). Full registration with a recognized professional body (e.g., UKCP, BACP). Experience working with children and young people with SEMH, emotional, and mental health needs. A good understanding of therapeutic approaches and how to tailor them to meet the needs of individual students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with young people. A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with students. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records. Why Join Us?
