An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the North Derbyshire Children's Community Continence Service for three days a week (22.5hrs). We are a small friendly team which is the lead provider for the Countywide Continence Service who supports children and young people aged 4-19 years in the community to achieve their continence potential.

We are looking for a Children's Community Continence Nurse to support and make a difference to children and young people's incontinence needs. The successful candidate will be a registered nurse who has a passion for continence and working in the community with children and young people and their families. An important element of the role is to independently undertake continence clinics across North Derbyshire. Applicants need to possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and work independently and as part of a team.

Full training and supervision from Specialist Nurses will be provided although a background in continence would be advantageous.

Main duties of the job

The main emphasis of this role is to provide specialist clinical practice within a defined clinical area/caseload. This will involve working independently with support/guidance from a multi-disciplinary (MDT) as required.

Duties will include, for example, provision of specialist knowledge and key experience in the care and management of children and young people with continence care needs, and working collaboratively with all agencies to promote health, education and well-being of children with continence care needs.

1st level Registered Nurse Post registration/graduate diploma or equivalent experience in related work area Evidence of qualification to undertake the supervision, teaching and assessing of students
