Dependant on home capacity, qualified and experience. Full-time, Permanent Qualification requirements Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent. A minimum of 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children (within the last 5 years). Full UK driving licence. The right to work in the UK. The Role We are looking for nurturing and supportive people, who can give our children high levels of care and allow them to achieve amazing outcomes. The role of Manager within our Children’s Homes is diverse and challenging which requires flexibility, effective planning and the ability to promptly respond to challenging situations. To ensure that all children and staffing team within our homes are safe, happy and able to grow and develop. Provide expertise and strong management to drive performance and deliver the homes’ priorities, ensuring that the ethos is embedded. To register with Ofsted as the Registered Manager and directly manage the staffing team to comply with the Ofsted regulations. To be accountable for and lead on the excellent care for children and young people, which improves outcomes, life chances and safeguards children and young people effectively. To lead in Regulation 44 visits and Ofsted inspections and develop the service these provide. Ensure the effective understanding and operation of any specific statutory or regulatory as part of the Ofsted registration. To recruit, support and develop a staffing team to deliver high quality, child focused care and support to any child in our care to achieve positive outcomes. Our young people receive the highest quality residential care and take part in recreational activities tailored to the child’s interests e.g. cinema, swimming and sports, etc. DESCRIPTION Ensure that all legal responsibilities associated with the opening, registration and operation of the home are effectively discharged. Supervise, support, and hold to account the staffing team within the home. Ensure the children placed in the homes are receiving a standard of care that is compliant with the homes Statement of Purpose and Function and Children’s Guide. Establish a meaningful relationship and extensive knowledge of each child placed, their Care Plans and Relationship plans. Managing the complex behaviours of the children and young people to encourage them to engage in a positive and structured routine, including supporting in crisis intervention. Ensure the homes are compliant with all relevant legislation and regulations and remain up to date with any changes. Ensure the home has a continuous improvement and development plan which is implemented, monitored, and evaluated. Ensure and evidence that all staff are sufficiently and appropriately trained, can evidence the relevant skills and experiences to undertake the roles. Ensure homes are fully prepared and ready for regular Ofsted inspections and regulation 44 visits. Ensure that electronic and paper administration systems are current and appropriate, that recorded information is accurate and that all sign offs and audits are completed. Work closely with the Responsible individual and other members of the management team. On-call responsibilities for all homes within CQS on a rolling pattern. Any other duties placed on you by the Responsible Individual, Directors or the children themselves. This list is not exhaustive.
