Assessing the need for both minor and major home adaptations and progressing these through the Disabled Facilities Grant processes. Working closely with local housing associations and BCP Homes to recommend and facilitate adaptations to improve a child’s access to essential facilities within their home. Completing moving and handling risk assessments and writing manual handling care plans, prescribing hoists and slings to ensure safe moving and handling of the child and reducing risks for parents and carers. You must have a diverse knowledge and understanding of how disability can affect children and their families and a sound awareness of safeguarding.
