Your new role Southend City Council are looking to appoint a full-time Personal Advisor within a 6-month fixed-term capacity. Within this position, you will be required to provide in-depth 1-1 intensive support to the most vulnerable young people, addressing barriers to ETE and enabling them to reach their full potential. These young people include those who have already dis-engaged, are persistent non-attendees, are young offenders and those that are Leaving Care, as well as those that are not undertaking any education or training post-16, who have learning difficulties or disabilities. Within this position, hybrid working opportunities are available. However, you are required to be on-site at the Civic Centre a minimum of 3 days a week.

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this position, you must have previously worked within front line services, preferably with young people, along with a qualification within social work, careers, education, equivalent to NVQ Level 4. You need to have the ability to relate to young people in a purposeful but responsive manner and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the needs of young people. Along with this, you must have experience of working collaboratively with partnering agencies and have some knowledge and understanding of children and young people who are open to social care.
