Children’s Residential Support Worker Full Time

Experience is not essential – the desire to help others is. A UK manual driving licence is required – but you don’t need a car. Hourly rates from £11.59 up to £12.54 – depending on location & qualification. Sleep-in rate is £78 – full time staff can expect up to 8 per month. £500 Welcome Bonus - once you pass probation period of 6 months. £1000 Refer A Friend scheme – maybe you know someone who would make a great support worker. We are looking to recruit people to support children and young people in a residential home setting. Residential support roles require long day shifts with the ability to do sleep-ins at the home overnight. ROC Northwest holds an envious reputation offering high quality residential care and education for children and young people with adverse childhood experiences and who may also be living with mental health conditions such as Autism, Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties and complex needs. What is the role?

Your role will be to support our children in the homes we provide for them, in all aspects of their daily lives. You’ll help them to maintain and develop relationships with friends and family, encourage them to integrate in the community by attending clubs, events and social activities. You will safeguard our children and report any suspicion or evidence of harm. When the children are not in the service you will be expected to undertake basic housekeeping duties where required. All this is done in a genuinely family feel environment, and this is key to success in this role. Other duties may also include activities such as watching a movie with the children, reading with them, taking walks, trying your hand on a games console or helping with other fun activities. We always promote a fun and love led environment and you’ll be expected to join in and have fun too. We have a friendly team ready and waiting to welcome you to the best job you might ever have. All you need to do is bring the enthusiasm to support our service users and to take pride in being part of our family. What do we look for?

Similar experience isn’t always required but is always welcome, as is personal experience. People who have the desire to put others first and to go home with a sense of pride in their day and what they’ve achieved. A Children’s Residential Level 3 qualification is desirable and offers the higher rate but it is not essential. A manual UK Driving Licence is essential to use company vehicles (not automatic). Ability to work long day shifts e.g. 8am to 10pm and sleep ins from 10pm to 7am. These are rotating shifts so your shift will fall on a weekend occasionally. ROC Northwest Values we look for in you

Friendly - passionate and caring. Positive - pleasant and approachable. Empowering - others to become stronger and more confident in their lives. Person Centred - allowing our children to explore & utilise their own strengths. Innovative - by using or introducing new engagement methods and ideas. Rewards and Benefits

Competitive rates including enhanced rates for qualified applicants. Industry leading Sleep-In rates. 2 weeks mandatory induction/training programme – this is paid. Ongoing training & career development, move up within ROC. Dedicated learning programmes including fully funded QCF Level 3. Free DBS check. Free on-site parking. Free meals on shift. Pension scheme. Employee recognition schemes. CareTech Foundation- Opportunity to apply for family & friend’s grants. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the young people we support. All successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS/PVG check and Regulated Activity, which will include a check against the barred children’s list. Due to the number of applications we receive, we may not be able to respond directly in some cases. If you have not heard back within 14 days, please consider your application unsuccessful on this occasion. Children's Residential Support Worker [SYS-15044]
