A bit about the role As a Children Service Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in guiding a dedicated team focused on providing exceptional support to children, young people, and families. In this position, you'll manage a diverse caseload, planning, preparing, and delivering engaging group sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of children, young people, and families. Your responsibilities will include offering one-to-one support and supervision within the children's service, ensuring that all interactions align with Ofsted requirements and service delivery standards. You'll be expected to demonstrate advanced casework skills, particularly in safeguarding and will take the lead in delivering parenting sessions. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills to facilitate workshops and parent/child sessions while adhering to Ofsted regulations. Your guidance will be crucial in the team as it will help foster a collaborative environment where every team member feels supported and empowered to contribute effectively. How you'll help to create brighter futures Provide a high-quality service to children/young people and their families based on assessed needs and outcomes. Deliver complex and specialised interventions with children and families in one-to-one or group community settings. Lead case planning including assessment and reviews. Establish and develop effective relationships with children, families, colleagues, and external agencies. Retain accurate records using various IT systems to produce written reports. Supervise staff and volunteers effectively. Let's talk about you. Level 3 qualification or above in Early Years/childcare working with Children, Young People and Families or equivalent qualification. Experience working within a multi-agency social care, early years or health environment and applying safeguarding procedures. Experience of managing cases, in accordance with agreed procedures and completing assessments, planning and reviews to ensure positive outcomes. Ability to keep the child and/or young people as the focus and ensure their feelings and wishes are represented in meetings and record keeping. Ability to communicate effectively and engagingly and to maintain independent professional relationships, boundaries.
