Westmorland & Furness Council are seeking passionate and experienced Children & Families Social Workers to join their Support and Protect Team. With two positions based in Kendal and one in Penrith, this is an opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of children and families across the region.

Responsibilities

Safeguard Children: Undertake statutory duties, including Child in Need, Child Protection, and court proceedings. Collaborate with Families: Build strong, trusting relationships with children and their families to assess needs and develop effective care plans. Case Management: Handle complex cases with confidence, ensuring timely and proportionate interventions. Multi-Agency Working: Partner with other professionals to deliver comprehensive and coordinated support. Focus on Outcomes: Work towards meaningful, sustainable improvements in the lives of children and families.

Requirements Qualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England. Experience: Proven track record in statutory children's social work, including safeguarding and court processes. Skills: Excellent communication, risk assessment, and decision-making skills. Knowledge: Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practices. Personal Attributes: A proactive, compassionate, and resilient professional committed to achieving the best outcomes for children.
