Children's Speech & Language Therapist - Band 5 or Newly Qualified Full-time, Part-time & Term time hours considered Applications from both newly qualified SLTs and experienced Band 5 SLTs are encouraged. Due to an ever-increasing demand for our services, Bromley Healthcare’s Children’s SLT Service is continuing to expand our fantastic and supportive team. We can offer: Regular Band 5 seminars on various clinical areas (e.g., Autism Spectrum Conditions, Developmental Language Disorder, Speech Disorders, Stammering, EHCP report writing, target setting) Support for newly qualified therapists through the RCSLT competencies, with weekly line management initially Access to an SLT mentor Whole-team CPD meetings and small clinical supervision groups Access to clinical specialists for support Opportunities for career progression Proposed interview date week commencing 10th February 2025 Main duties of the job

We are currently developing a new Universal, Targeted Specialist model in mainstream schools through our core service, delivering EHCP intervention in mainstream schools, as well as expanding our buy-in service in mainstream schools, special schools, and provisions. Day-to-day, you will provide assessment and therapy services to a mixed paediatric caseload with speech, language, and communication needs, as well as report writing and opportunities for training parents/carers and those working with children with SLCN. The post holder is responsible to safeguard children, young people, and adults at risk. To provide a speech and language therapy service to patients with communication and/or swallowing disorders with appropriate support from a supervisor. To make a differential diagnosis based on evidence from assessment, leading to decisions about intervention/treatment, seeking advice as appropriate. To communicate complex condition-related information from assessment to clients, carers, families, and members of the multi-disciplinary team/other professions. Person specification

Qualifications

Recognised speech & language therapy degree qualification or equivalent. Health Professions Council Licence to practice. Registered member of Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists. Evidence of Continuing Professional Development Experience

Evidence of developing responsibility for clinic and caseload management. Experience of working with other professionals relevant to client groups. Specific Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, including observation, listening, and empathy. Well-developed analytical skills with use of knowledge necessary for case load management, assessment, and therapy relevant to client group. Ability to transcribe speech phonetically. Skills in handling clients/patients with disabilities.
