We are seeking a passionate and skilled
Senior Consultant - Linux & Automation
to lead the design and delivery of Linux-based automation solutions for our client in West Sussex. This role will be hybrid working. They offer a competitive salary of £45k-£65k, alongside excellent benefits, including a very strong bonus (10-30%), 29 days holiday (progressing up to 33), medical and dental coverage, and more. This position is ideal for Linux enthusiasts who have a background in system administration, scripting (Bash, Perl, Python), and automation tools, and are ready to step into a more strategic and impactful role. Key Responsibilities: Project Leadership : Manage the planning and successful delivery of large-scale Linux and automation projects, ensuring client objectives are met with innovative and effective solutions. Design and Architecture : Develop scalable, secure Linux systems using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible. Technical Implementation : Configure Linux environments, deploy Zabbix monitoring systems, and create automation scripts to optimise infrastructure operations. Client Engagement : Serve as the primary contact for clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions with exceptional service. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration : Work alongside teams in infrastructure, networking, cloud (AWS), virtualisation (Nutanix), and storage to deliver comprehensive solutions. Mentorship : Support junior team members by providing technical guidance and fostering professional growth. What We're Looking For: Proven experience in Linux system administration and scripting (Bash, Perl, Python). Hands-on expertise with Zabbix for monitoring and tools like Terraform and Ansible for automation. Familiarity with Git for version control and collaboration. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively in client-facing roles. A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving and evolving technologies. Experience in cross-functional collaboration across domains such as cloud (AWS), virtualisation (Nutanix), and storage. Passion for mentoring and sharing knowledge within a team.
