Civil Engineering contractor with long-term project work in Somerset and the greater South West area requires a Site Engineer to work on a civils infrastructure and highways civils project.
The Engineer's duties will be mainly setting out and supervision of related works, record keeping, and technical support, helping to ensure work is completed within schedule and safety parameters. Any suitable candidate must have experience of related projects such as highways and traffic management.
The selected candidate will ideally be a graduate or possess a minimum ONC qualification in a Civil Engineering related discipline, along with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience. Setting out equipment can either be provided by the Contractor or Engineer (with a rate uplift); however, any suitable candidate should have a laptop, ideally with CAD facility.
The Engineer role will start ASAP. Work is expected to last for a year or so, with the prospect of further work beyond that.
Day rate will be competitive and in line with experience.
